Welcome to Medical Minute with Paul Birmingham, brought to you by Oro Valley Hospital.
I知 here with Dr. Rebecca Millholand a Neurologist fellowship trained in headaches and epilepsy.
Doctor, can stress trigger headaches?
Stress doesn稚 cause headaches. I think of patients more as headache people or not headache people, so you either have lower threshold to get headache in the first place. So you trigger are going to be multiple and vary individual. Triggers can be stress they can be weather changes they can be foods. So for each person it is going to be different. The most common triggers though are stress like I said and weather changes.
Speaking of the weather, the monsoon is here. Should I be worried that the monsoon will trigger a migraine headache?
Oh certainly, I am always the busiest during monsoon season. People痴 headaches are far worst during the monsoon. The storms are rolling in, their headache gets worst, last for several days, so certainly you should watch out for weather changes and headache.
